Avant Garde Lodge - Kempton Park

The staff were warm and cute, making me feel at home.

Upon arrival, the shuttle was late, and I had to wait for 30 minutes before opting for an Uber. Once I arrived, there was confusion about my reservation, which left me feeling unwelcome initially. The swimming pool was just a splash pool rather than a proper swimming pool as I had expected.

i had a nice and inviting room with classy finishes, the bathroom and special touches and everything was wonderful. location: the hotel was next to perfect for a stay before-/-after flying to-/-from home, the lovely gardens and kempton park. nothing to complain about, this was an awesome stay on a business trip.

The shuttle service was super convenient, especially for my early flight. The food was delicious, and the super nice team. The gardens and communal areas were lovely. It was a very homely vibe.

We have booked the accommodation because of its proximity to the airport. Not much gets through to the planes. There is a shuttle to the airport. The facility is spacious. Great for kids to let off steam. We had booked a family room. On site we exchanged for a smaller room near the pool. Completely problem-free. The staff is very friendly. The chef himself takes the order for dinner at the pool. A nice accommodation to arrive in South Africa or to enjoy the last evening.

Conveniently located, this place ensured a stress-free start and finish to our travels. The warm staff added a personal touch. The gorgeous gardens and comfy rooms provided a perfect escape. The shuttle service was a lifesaver. Truly a gem!

Convenient location for airport stopover and quiet. Excellent staff/service.

Owner was very helpfull to collect from Air Port and organize City Tour on next day and bring us back to Airport. Nice well maintained garden.

For a 4 star rated establishment on the lower end but with positiv pesonal touch. Breakfast could be improved.

I almost wanted to give a good review, but the wi-fi literally didn't work half the time, and i reminded me of i was living in the stone age. Plus, i asked for a packed breakfast but got only sad little sandwiches instead of a proper meal. I honestly expected better, you know, like a complimentary snack or something?

The hotel is clean, comfortable, close to the airport and the staff are friendly.

The food at the evening meal was not hot. I was charged for the trip to the airport when the website says the shuttle is free.

The cook was wonderful, he made us a breakfast to go since we couldn't stay for a full one.

Everything looked very nice until you touched it. Then it fell apart. I got locked in a bathroom because the door handle fell off in my hand. The window opener also fell off when we tried to use it. I would not recommend this hotel for older couples as there is no door to the bathroom areas in the rooms.

The breakfast was amazing. They even provided an airport shuttle at the crack of dawn, a lifesaver for my early flight. Felt super comfortable and relaxed!

The grounds were beautiful, as was my room. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. Had a great two night stay on my layover in Johannesburg.

There is not much in the area, but that is not necessarily a bad thing....depending on what your needs are.
